Global
Reach

Unleashed new opportunities for 466 million signers worldwide,
offering them a chance to bridge the communication divide.

Bridging the Communication Gap : The core challenge was addressing the communication barrier that exists between the deaf and mute community and the hearing world. While deaf individuals often use sign language, there was no technology that allowed speakers to understand sign language fluently.

Technological Development : Creating a glove that could accurately interpret hand gestures into speech and text required groundbreaking advancements in both wearable tech and
AI-powered gesture recognition.

Market Penetration : Ensuring accessibility to the target community, especially in rural and underserved areas, posed a logistical challenge, compounded by the cost of production and distribution.

Our journey as designers on the Fifth Sense project began with a deep understanding of the communication gap between the deaf and mute community and the hearing world. We worked closely with the founders to conceptualize and develop a technology that could bridge this divide. The design process involved creating a wearable glove that could accurately interpret sign language into speech and text, while ensuring ease of use and accessibility. We also designed the accompanying app to complement the glove, providing a seamless experience. Through collaboration, research, and iterative design, we helped bring a groundbreaking product to life, aimed at improving communication and empowering millions of people globally.

Real-time Communication: The Fifth Sense glove translates sign language into speech and text, enabling seamless communication between deaf and mute individuals and the hearing community.

Mobile App Integration: The accompanying app enhances the user experience by allowing real-time text translation and speech output.

Inclusive Design: The device is designed to be wearable and portable, ensuring easy access for users in various environments.

Global Accessibility: The technology enables widespread communication, offering greater independence and inclusion for deaf and mute individuals across the globe.
